Student Athlete Q&As
Keystone College is exercising its right to appeal the recent Adverse Action by its accreditor, Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), to withdraw accreditation. While the final decision on that appeal is not expected until March or April 2025, Keystone College will remain accredited through the appeal process. Keystone College is not permitted to market to, recruit, or enroll new students during the appeal process. And, while Keystone is in the appeal process, MSCHE has notified Keystone that it must implement and make available the College’s Teach-Out Plan to interested students. Student Athlete Questions and Answers
Are student-athletes invited to join sports teams at Teach-Out Institutions?
Keystone College will work closely with Teach-Out Institutions to set up meetings for interested Keystone athletes with coaches to discuss athletic opportunities. Our preliminary conversations with Teach-Out institutions have indicated that every consideration will be given if roster spots are available.
Will I have to try out or will I automatically make the team at Teach-Out Institutions?
Each institution and team have individual situations related to roster sizes and player needs. Keystone student-athletes should work with their current coach(es) and the coach(es) at the Teach-Out Institutions to be considered. Each student-athlete brings different skills, so coaches from both institutions will work with you individually to facilitate the conversation.
